Creditors Voluntary Liquidation

2009 saw 1,139 companies wound up by way of a creditors voluntary liquidation.  This is a significant increase compared to both 2008 and 2007 when 568 and 286 companies were wound up by way of a creditors voluntary liquidation respectively.

Court Appointed Liquidators

2009 saw 106 companies wound up by order of the High Court.  This is an increase compared to both 2008 and 2007 when 86 and 36 companies were wound up by way of a creditors voluntary liquidation respectively.

Receivership

2009 saw 124 companies wound up by a receiver.  This is a significant increase compared to both 2008 and 2007 when 57 and 11 receivers were appointed respectively.

Examinership

2009 saw 37 companies enter Examinership, a significant decrease compared to 2008 when 62 companies entered examinership.
